DPF Cleaning in Cowfold, Horsham

A blocked diesel particulate filter causes poor performance, higher fuel consumption and, left alone, expensive repairs. We assess and clean DPFs at our Cowfold workshop using our own in-house DPF cleaning machine, so the filter can usually be restored rather than replaced.

The DPF traps and stores soot to reduce harmful emissions. It clears itself by regenerating at high temperature, which is why cars used mainly for short journeys tend to clog up: the filter never gets hot enough for long enough. Loss of power, a dashboard warning light or worsening fuel economy are the usual signs.

We assess the condition of the filter first and tell you what state it is actually in. If cleaning is the right course of action, we flush it out on our DPF machine, which removes built-up soot and ash and restores the filter to proper working condition.

Cleaning extends the life of the DPF considerably and costs a great deal less than a replacement filter.
